Insurance.com commissioned Quadrant Data Services to field home insurance rates in late 2023 from major insurers in each state for nearly all ZIP codes in the country. Rates were fielded at 10 coverage levels. Dwelling coverages quoted range from $200,000 to $1 million. Deductibles include a $1,000 standard deductible and 2% hurricane deductible where noted. The following coverages are based on a percentage of the dwelling coverage: other structures: 10%, loss of use: 10%, personal property: 50%. Guest medical at $5,000 and liability limits at $100,000 and $300,000. The homeowner profile is a 40-year-old married applicant with an excellent insurance score and based on a new business HO-3 policy for a house built in 2000 with frame construction and composition roof.
