FOSTER CITY, Calif. (Mar. 17, 2015) – Insurance.com, a car insurance comparison-shopping site that offers side-by-side policy choices for 14 carriers, has launched a new mobile platform that allows visitors to purchase policies with just a tap of their screens in as quickly as 10 minutes.
“Comparing quotes on smartphones can be a minefield, especially if you want to see quotes from multiple companies at the same time,” said Insurance.com Managing Editor Des Toups. “Most sites don’t ask all the questions needed to show you a real rate you can actually buy, or they sell your phone number to a bunch of insurance companies. We think mobile users want to see real rates right away, the way shoppers who visit our website do.”
The new Insurance.com mobile site features a simple walk-through about prior insurance coverage and vehicles, reviews discounts and coverage options, then displays rates from insurance carriers side by side. For those with questions or concerns, users can connect with a licensed agent at any point in the quote process.
Insurance.com does not share shoppers’ contact information.
This no-hassle approach to auto insurance shopping allows customers to get real-time quotes anywhere, regardless of whether that’s at an airport or a dealership, Toups said.
“One in five of our customers use mobile devices,” Toups said. “Our new platform allows them to compare rates and buy when the need arises.”
More than 1 million Insurance.com users have saved an average of $540, the company says, with policies sold through providers that include Progressive, Esurance, The Hartford, Travelers and 21st Century.
