Farmers ranked 12th out of the 15 carriers ranked. Its prices are higher than the national average, but it offers customers a wide range of discounts.

Farmers earned a J.D. Power score of 878/1,000 for claims satisfaction, which is right at the industry average. Farmers also has an AM Best Score of A, which shows an excellent ability to meet its financial obligations, such as paying out claims. Why did my Farmers car insurance rate go up?

In general, car insurance rates go up when you get a speeding ticket, have an accident or file a claimAn insurance claim is a request you make to your insurance company for coverage after your car is damaged or you have an accident. You can file a claim online, by phone, or in writing.. If you’ve moved to a new area where weather, traffic, or crime patterns carry increased risk, this could translate to higher claims as well.

If you haven’t had a change to your personal driving record, chances are Farmers’ prices have increased because of overall higher claims costs.

Why is my Farmers auto insurance so expensive?

There are any number of reasons why your rate with Farmers might be expensive. It could be your driving record, a change in your household, or even something unrelated to you, like an increase in risk in your area. If you feel your rate is unfairly high, speak to your Farmers agent and consider shopping around; another company might be cheaper for you.

Is Farmers a good auto insurance company?

It has been around for a long time and is one of the largest insurance companies in the U.S. What makes an insurance company good for you depends on what you value most.
